Trip - Fish Through the Tide. Find the Trophy Bite. on September 14, 2025

We ran into some unexpected tough fishing conditions. But Pete handled it like the pro he is. He was determined to put us on some fish, and he certainly did just that. We were extremely happy with the bluefish and striped bass we reeled in. Pete's knowledge about and enthusiasm for fishing are apparent the minute you step on his boat. And to top it off, he's a really fun guy to fish with. Highly recommended.

Captain Pete put together an outstanding trip from start to finish. We found bluefish at dusk, hooked a couple of bonus giant weakfish at sunset, then spent the rest of the night targeting big bass. The striped bass alone made the trip, with fish up to 39 inches and an even bigger one lost after a long, solid fight. Everything else was just a bonus. Great boat, quality gear, and Captain Pete worked nonstop to make things happen. Friendly, professional, and clearly dedicated. I’ll definitely be back.

I booked this as a surprise trip for my husband’s 50th birthday, and it couldn’t have gone better. My husband and son had an amazing time with Captain Pete. He was incredibly responsive and patient while I was planning the trip, and once on the water, they said he was a blast to fish with. Laid back, knowledgeable, and great at helping them catch fish. We’ll absolutely be booking again with Captain Pete and Rising Tide Fishing.

This was our second trip with Captain Pete, and it was outstanding. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and great to be around on the water. We caught a ton of fish and had an all-around great experience. I can’t recommend him highly enough. If you’re thinking about booking, you won’t be disappointed.

Trip - Chasing Connecticut's Striped Bass After Dark on July 24, 2024

What a great time we had. Fish were not biting like I’d hope but we each caught a good sized Striped Bass. Captain Pete worked really hard fighting the tide and a stiff breeze. We are looking forward to go again when the fish might be more active.

Our fishing trip with Captain Peter was hands down the most outstanding experience we've had. His exceptional communication skills and commitment to ensuring our satisfaction made it a truly memorable outing. We were able to catch more than 20 fish of varying sizes, and I highly recommend him as a charter for anyone looking to fish. I would definitely choose to fish with Captain Peter again if I ever return to the area.

Peter was a fantastic person to be out on the water with, and his communication skills throughout the booking process and leading up to the trip were excellent. I highly recommend fishing with him, and I definitely plan on doing so again myself in the future!

Captain Pete is a fishing guide who truly understands the needs of anglers. During our trip on Friday night with my son and 12-year-old grandson, he maintained communication by calling several times beforehand to confirm the booking, provide weather updates, and give fishing conditions. Despite Pete's warning of slow fishing, we gave it a shot and although it was challenging, we persisted and were rewarded with two trophy bass, one around 30 pounds and the second over 45 pounds, which were both released. Pete worked hard, dedicating a lot of time to coach my grandson without overdoing it. I would definitely book another trip with him. If you're looking for a friendly guide who is passionate about light tackle fishing and committed to getting you on the fish, Captain Pete on "Rising Tide" is your go-to guy. Plus, there's no rush on his boat!
